Where can I book a ticket?+
You can book online, by phone by contacting us at 0825 131 050 or at our ticket office in one of our ferry terminals (Granville, Carteret, Sark, Jersey and Guernsey).
For any specific request (e.g unaccompanied minors, passengers with reduced mobility, combined island trips, different numbers of passengers on your return leg …), please contact us on 0825 131 050.
Firm bookings are required no later than the day before departure, subject to availability.
How to settle up my booking?+
We accept most credit and debit cards, cheques, cash and French holiday vouchers at no cost.
Reservations are confirmed after full payment.
Once payment processed, you will receive your booking confirmation.
What is my reservation number?+
Your reservation number is unique. You will find it on your booking confirmation and on your return tickets.
It allows us to access your travel arrangements easily, please keep your reference number close at hand.
How much does a ferry crossing cost?+
Our price structure is fluid and rates vary according to the date of the reservation, the day of departure, the request and the availability.
We advise you to book early to benefit from the best rates.
You can also check the rates live by using our on-line booking system.
Do you have daily departures?+
We almost offer daily departures from April to September from France to Jersey (but our ports are tidal)
You can consult all schedules on our website clicking on the “Brochures/Timetables” tab.
For an overnight stay in the Channel Islands, we advise you to check our schedules before booking your accommodation.
Which documents do I need to travel?+
All passengers (adult, child, infant) must have a valid passport (excluding minors traveling in school groups).
A driving license and the family record book do not constitute identity documents and cannot be accepted.
Some EU or non-EU nationals will need a visa to travel.
A minor under the age of 12 cannot travel alone and must be accompanied by an adult.
Authorization to leave the territory: Any minor child not accompanied by a person having parental authority must present an identity document, an authorization to leave the territory (form CERFA 15646 * 01) and a photocopy of the identity document of the legal representative who signed the authorization to leave the territory.
Passengers must personally ensure that they are in possession of the documents required by the police and customs authorities.

It will be necessary to present you 1h before the departures for the various procedures of embarkation.
My child is a minor, can he travel?+
A minor under the age of 12 can’t travel alone and must be accompanied by an adult.
A minor child travelling with adults other than his legal representatives will be required to carry an AST (Autorisation de Sortie de Territoire)
Authorization to leave the territory: Any minor child not accompanied by a person having parental authority must present a valid passport, an authorization to leave the territory (form CERFA 15646 * 01) and a photocopy of the identity document of the legal representative who signed the authorization to leave the territory.
Why do you need information from all passengers?+
The Channel Islands are not part of the European Union. They depend on the British Crown but are not part of the United Kingdom.
Under the European Directive on the Registration of Persons Traveling on Passenger Ships, we must pass on the full name, date of birth, sex and nationality of all passengers to the local customs and police authorities.
Please check that the information you have provided exactly matches the information on your passport.
We also ask you for a mobile number and an email address to inform you of any changes or useful information related to your booking.
Can I cancel my reservation?+
You can cancel your booking by contacting us by phone at 0825 131 050 or at the ticket offices in our ferry terminals.
If you booked through a tour operator, partner site, reseller or travel agency, you will need to contact them directly to cancel your reservation.
These are our applicable cancellation terms:
– more than 30 days before departure: 25% charge on the return fare
– between 30 and 15 days before departure: 30% charge on the return fare
– less than 15 days before departure: 35% charge on the return fare
– less than 72 hours before departure: 50% charge on the return fare
– less than 48 hours before departure: 100% charge on the return fare)
How can I change my booking?+
You can make changes to your reservation by contacting us by phone at 0825 131 050 or at the ticket offices in our ferry terminals. You can’t change your booking online.
If you have booked with a tour operator, a partner site, a reseller or a travel agency, you must contact them directly to have your reservation changed.
Once your reservation has been modified, you will have to pay the change fee and any applicable fare increase.
We will send you a new booking confirmation.
Please find below our modification fee policy (not applicable when adding a service or an additional passenger):
– more than 15 days before departure: no charge
– from 15 days to the day before departure: 5€ per passenger per journey, ie 10€ return
– On departure day: no possible change
I have not received my tickets?+
We will give you return tickets only the morning of departure, upon check-in, upon presentation of your valid passport.
When booking over the phone or online, you will automatically receive a booking confirmation by email. It will be hand-delivered to you when you book at the counter.
If you have booked through a tour operator, a partner site, a reseller or a travel agency, you must give us the appropriate agency voucher.
It will be necessary to present you 1h before each departure for the procedures of registration.
Is travel insurance included?+
We do not offer insurance.
For a day trip, in case of a weather cancellation or due to any other circumstance, the Company will offer a refund or an alternative travel date up until December 31 of the current year.
For an overnight stay, we recommend you to book accommodation and /or any other extra service, with an agency offering a cover or make sure that your booking is changeable or refundable.
Please note that the Company will not cover direct or indirect costs due to a ferry cancellation.
COVID-19+
• COVID-19 HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOL: Subject to changes in order to comply to government rules in France and in the Channel Islands, available on official websites uk.ambafrance.org, gouvernement.fr, gov.je et covid19.gov.gg.
Passengers tested positive prior to departure and therefore not authorized to travel will not be entitled to any refund.
DURING YOUR TRIP
What should I do on my departure day?+
Bring your booking confirmation and hand it in at our check-in desk.
Passengers must check-in for boarding a minimum of 90 minutes prior to departure. Any passenger, including passengers holding tickets, arriving to checkin less than 40 minutes prior to departure will be refused boarding and will have no recourse against MANCHE ILES EXPRESS. Passengers who are refused boarding because of late arrival for check-in will remain liable for the cost of the fare. Each passenger must have a ticket before boarding. Ticket must be retained by the passenger for the duration of the crossing and for arrival & departure procedures. Seats are not allocated or numbered.
The seats on the vessel are not numbered and not allocated. If you have luggage or bicycles, you will need to tag them using the labels provided by the Company on the morning of departure.
What is the boarding procedure for luggage and bicycles?+
We kindly ask you to carry your own luggage when you board the ship.
Each passenger is allowed a 20kg baggage allowance. The Company is not responsible for luggage.
Your luggage must be labelled with your name and destination address.
In case of non-compliance with these conditions, a supplement of 15 € will be charged in addition to the ticket price.
Otherwise, the Company reserves the right to refuse to boarding of luggage.
Transport of bicycles (standard and electric) is accepted up to a limit of 9 bicycles per ship per crossing for Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney. However, bicycles are not carried between Jersey and Sark. The Company is not responsible for bicycles left unattended. Tandems, bicycle trailers and electric scooters are not accepted on board. Boarding a bicycle costs €41 and can be booked on our website, by telephone or at the ferry terminal.
What is prohibited on board?+
Is there a Bureau de Change on board?+
There is no Bureau de Change on board.
In the Channel Islands you may use your credit card for payment or get some cash from any local ATM.
Do not hesitate to contact your bank for more information.
Euros (€) are not accepted in the Channel Islands.
On board, both currencies are accepted. Most credit cards are also welcome.
Is there any catering facilities on the vessel?+
A range of hot drinks, cold drinks, sweets, sandwiches and snacks are available on board.
You will also have a selection of breakfast and lunch options.
Can I buy duty free / duty free products on board?+
We offer a Duty Free shop on board our ships with a selection of perfumes, cosmetics, accessories, spirits and cigarettes.
You will find “Travel Retail Exclusive” products: products available only at airport or ferry terminal shops.
Do not hesitate to inquire about the duty free allowance for each specific port.
Duty Free allowance (subject to change)
You can disembark the following quantities per person (from 17 years):
Tobacco: 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250gr of tobacco
Alcohols: + 22 ° 1 Litre – 22 ° or less 2 Litres – Beer 16 Litres
Other goods: – 17 years old 150€ worth / + 17 years old 430€ worth)
AFTER YOUR TRIP
I forgot something on board, can I get it back?+
If you forget something on board one of our ships, you can contact us on 0825 131 050 or through the contact form with your travel date and your port of departure.
In case of cancellation or delay, what are my rights?+
In case of dispute or claim for compensation, you must send the claim form of the Company within a maximum of 1 month following the crossing which has been cancelled or delayed by recorded delivery letter to the following address: COMPAGNIE MARITIME DNO – MANCHE ILES EXPRESS – Rue des Isles – 50400 Granville.
After the one month period, the claim will no longer be taken into account.
The Claim Form is available on request.
We will look into your file as swiftly as possible within our terms and conditions governed by the law of June 18, 1966 and its implementing decrees, by the Transport Code and by Regulation (EU) No. 1177 / 2010 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 2010 on the rights of passengers traveling by sea.
Within 60 days after your claim and without a satisfactory answer from MANCHE ILES EXPRESS, the travel ombudsman can be contacted freely on www.mtv.travel.
Can we share our comments and suggestions on our experience on board?+

OTHERS
Can I travel with my car or bike?+
We operate a foot passenger ferry service, we do not ship vehicles.
You can park your car free of charge by the French ferry ports, subject to availability.
The transport of bicycles (standard and electric) is accepted within the limit of 6 bicycles per ship and per crossing. The Company is not responsible for bicycles left unattended. Tandems, bicycle trailers and electric scooters are not accepted on board.
Where can I park my vehicle?+
From the ports of Granville, Carteret and Diélette, you can park your car for free in front of the ferry terminal.
Medical restrictions, pregnant women and extra assistance request+
Travelling by sea in adverse weather conditions can be stressful, unpleasant or even dangerous for frail people.
Medical conditions
If you have a health problem (heart problems or other), if you think you might be ill, under a specific drug prescription, ask your doctor for advice before travelling.

Pregnant women
For security reasons, if you have more than 28 weeks of pregnancy we cannot accept a reservation.
Passengers with reduced mobility (PRM)
If you need extra assistance, please mention it at the time of booking so that you can be looked after.

Can we travel with pets?+
Pets are not allowed on board, except official guide dogs.
If this is the case, they must be declared at the time of booking so that the administrative formalities can be carried out.
Can I pay in Euros in the Channel Islands?+
The Channel Islands do not accept euros (€), only Jersey or Guernsey pounds and British pounds (£).
The Guernsey and Jersey pounds are coined in the Channel Islands and are only valid there, they have the same value as the Great British Pound. But they cannot be exchanged against Euros in a French bank.
You can get some cash out of most ATMS in the Channel Islands.
